FOR MEMBER AMERICAN WORLDWIDE AGENCIES ACHIEVES CTPAT CERTIFICATION

Los Angeles, CA – December 4th 2019— American Worldwide Agencies (AWA) has been formally granted Customs Trade and Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) certification by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The certification was achieved after over a year-long, rigorous process of reviewing procedures, standards and partnerships.

CTPAT and its partners work to protect the supply chain, identify security gaps, and implement specific security measures and best practices. Applicants must address a broad range of security topics and present security profiles that list action plans to align security throughout the supply chain. CTPAT members are considered to be of low risk, and are therefore less likely to be examined at a U.S. port of entry.

CTPAT partners enjoy a variety of benefits, including taking an active role in working closer with the U.S. government in its war against terrorism. Additionally, partners are able to better identify their own security vulnerabilities and take corrective actions to mitigate risks and receive other priorities and privileges on behalf of their clients as well as reduced inspections.

“This essential certification enables AWA to provide its partners and clients with an even higher level of service,” said Graham Burford, AWA CEO. “CTPAT certification is a great step and another achievement to show our commitment to partnership with authorities and dedication to our clients,” he added.

Since its start in 2001, CTPAT has certified more than 11,400 partners spanning the gamut of the trade community.
